Dog Licenses

ATTENTION DOG OWNERS

As you know, Dog licenses are due April 1st of each year. Thank you to the dog owners who already renewed their dog's licenses.  For the remaining dog owners, there is a 60-day grace period prior to applying a $15/dog late fee.  Therefore, you may license your dog(s) by dropping off your payment at the Drop Box in front of Town Hall (340 Anawan Street), in person visiting us - first office on your left after walking through foyer door or online through the new online permitting dog licensing program. Please make sure you include any updated rabies vaccination certificates.  If paying by mail, checks should be made payable to the “Town of Rehoboth”. The licensing fees are as follows: Male or female dog $20.00; spayed or neutered dogs $10.00. Whether renewing online, via mail, or drop box, dog license applications must be accompanied by a current year rabies certificate (with a vaccination date covering the current licensing year) and proof of spay or neuter [if applying for the $10 licensing fee] unless we already have your documentation on file in the Clerk’s Office. If you are unsure, please give our office a call, and we can tell you how up-to-date our information is 508-252-6502 X-3112, 3109 or 3110. Reminder to those residents 70 years of age or older . . . if over 70 years old, as per MGL 140§139(c) and town meeting vote, the Clerk’s Office will waive the $10/$20 license fee; however, you must still apply for the license and show the current year rabies certificate.

Please renew your dog licenses as soon as you are able ~ thank you.

All dogs in Rehoboth must be licensed annually with the Town. Licenses are only good until the 31st of March each year.

Massachusetts General Law requires that all dogs over six months of age be licensed. The Town Clerk's Office assigns the dog licenses for the Town of Rehoboth. Proof of a current rabies vaccination certificate (not a rabies tag) is required to license your dog(s).

  • (Female) Spayed / (Male) Neutered = $10.00
  • Female (Unspayed) / Male (Unneutered) = $20.00
  • Late Fee - Imposed on any licenses issued after May 31st at 11:59 PM = $15.00

(Obviously, if you have newly adopted a dog or puppy, this would not apply when licensing your new addition to your family.)
