Online Permitting

The Town of Rehoboth is excited to introduce a new online system for Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Gas, Board of Health, Burn, and Dog permits/licenses.  Renewals may also be made in person at the respective department, please call the department to confirm hours and requirements. This is an automated program for applying and paying for permits online. Here, you may also view the status of your application as it is being processed and print out your permit after it is issued

**If your dog received a license last year in Rehoboth, please click the button below and complete 3* pieces of information then click search.  Please keep your search simple.  Street name only, not Road, Rd, RD.  To narrow your search choose "single dog" from the "Application Type" dropdown menu (1*) Owner Last Name only (2*) and (3*) Street "Name" or Dog "Name" only.  Thank you!  Click the Renew button to the left of your dog's expired license.  Please review the information and follow the steps to renew** ~ thank you.

Burn Application or Request to Burn

Dog Licenses  (New; No Prior License) 

If you need to register a "New" dog, please contact the Town Clerk's Office 508-252-6502 - Extension 3109 or 3112 (or) e-mail TownClerk@RehobothMA.gov (or) mail in a renewal form (see attachment at bottom of page or click on the "New Application" link below) mail to:  Town Clerk's Office - 340 Anawan Street - Rehoboth, MA  02769 along with a current rabies vaccination certificate.  If you prefer to drop off your application and rabies certificate, please stop by and see us Monday-Thursday 8:00AM to 4:00PM, Friday 8:00AM-12:00Noon.  For after hours, please drop off your documents in a sealed envelope addressed to the Town Clerk's Office at Town Offices (340 Anawan Street/Route 118) ~ thank you.

Create an Account/Register (New users; NOT Burn and Dog Permits)
To apply online, the first step is to create an applicant user account:

Once you have created your account credentials, login and click on the upper left button “New Application”.  Select the Department you wish to apply for a permit from, then one of the listed permit types to open a new application form.

When your application is submitted, you can click on the "eye" Permit Eye icon to view the status of your permit application.

You can pay online after the application is submitted and fee is assessed by clicking the "eye" Permit Eye icon and going to the “Pay Fee” transaction on the Status Panel.

Service Fees: 

  • Credit Card: 2.95%  ($1.00 minimum)
  • Electronic Check: $0.40 (flat rate)
  • Checks by mail are accepted but will delay processing of permit.
  • Services fees are collected by our vendor, Invoice Cloud for the processing of the credit or electronic payment.  

Permit applications are addressed quickly, but please allow at least 48 business hours for your application to be reviewed. Municipal staff may use the “Chat” feature for any questions or to let you know if additional information or documents need to be uploaded.  You can chat back by clicking on the bubble icon Permit Chat Bubble.

Please remember to always upload all necessary attachments using the “Paperclip” Paper Clip icon and / or the “Checklist” transaction, as applicable.  

After the permit is issued, you can log into your account at any time and print your permit.

Benefits of Online Permitting/Registration

  • Much of the information will auto-fill on the permit application after your original registration.
  • Have an ability to view the status of their application and comments from other departments including whether additional information is required.
  • Edit an application before the permit is issued.
  • Add attachments  (Plans, pictures, specs license(s), certificates of insurance, etc.) to the application.
  • The capability of “Chatting” online directly with the Building Department staff.
  • Pay for the permit online
  • View inspection(s) results.
  • Renewals will pre-populate information from the prior year

Building Department Requirements / Information

  • Applicants will no longer have to obtain signatures from other departments when submitting a permit application, HOWEVER, should plans require review by the Town of Rehoboth Fire Department, Health Department, Planning Department, Conservation Commission or Highway Department and cannot be uploaded with the online application, THEY MUST physically be brought to the Building Department, who will distribute said plans to those applicable departments. YOU MUST SUBMIT ONE SET OF PLANS NO LARGER THAN 11x17.

Board of Health Requirements / Information

  • In addition to uploading the digital copy of the plans, physical plans must be delivered to the Board of Health Office (minimum 18"x24"):
    DWCP - new or complete: 6 sets of plans
    DWCP - repair: 4 set of plans
