PLEASE NOTE: EFFECTIVE 10:00 AM SATURDAY NEW STREET WILL BECOME ONE-WAY TRAFFIC FROM ROUTE 44 TO COUNTY STREET. VEHICLES WILL BE ABLE TO TRAVEL FROM ROUTE 44 TOWARDS THE HIGH SCHOOL. VEHICLES EXITING THE HIGH SCHOOL WILL NEED TO TURN LEFT AND PROCEED TO COUNTY STREET. PARKING WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF NEW STREET. REHOBOTH POLICE OFFICERS AND TRAFFIC SIGNS WILL ASSIST TRAFFICFLOW. ONE WAY TRAFFIC WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL THE TENT MEETING ADJOURNS AND THE CROWDS CLEAR

(DIGHTON, MA) On Saturday, November 2, 2019, the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School Committee will hold a Two-Town Meeting commencing at 1:00PM at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School. Information for participants is as follows:

Parking:         Available at DRRHS and at both K-8 Campuses Shuttles from Dighton Middle School and Beckwith Middle School will begin at 11:20AM and run continuously throughout the day.

Handicapped parking will be available at both entrances with the appropriate placard.  

Check-In:      Begins at 11:30AM

  • Dighton Voters will be checked in at the “Superintendent’s Office Entrance
  • Rehoboth Voters will be checked in at the  “DRRHS Main Office Entrance”    
  • Active registered voters should show proof of ID to check in; Inactive registered voters must show proof of ID, proof of residency, and will be asked to sign an affidavit.  If you have not voted in recent elections you may be on the inactive list as determined by the two town clerk offices.
  • Observers can go to either entrance. Please note that all non-voters should be checked in to determine capacity adherence. Observers may be asked to wait in an alternate room if room capacity is reached in the Auditorium or Gymnasium.   
  • Once checked in you will be asked to wear a numbered sticker that will signify voting or observing status (not residency status).

Other information for participants:

  •    The meeting will take place in the Auditorium with a live feed to the Gymnasium to accommodate more voters. 
  •   Speaking and debate can only occur in the Auditorium. If you wish to speak and are seated in the Gymnasium, please see an usher at the door who will escort you to reserved seating for speakers in the Auditorium. You may be asked to return to the Gymnasium if the number of speakers is above the capacity of the Auditorium.

The format will resemble a town meeting.

A moderator was unanimously selected by both town’s Board of Selectmen.

The meeting will be streamed via the DRRHS Audiovisual YouTube channel and on Facebook by the “Save our Schools Organization”

If the meeting is determined as over capacity as determined by the Dighton Fire Department, it will cease. Should this become the case, Notification will be sent via the DRRSD website and Facebook.

Members of the Dighton Police and Fire Departments will be on hand to ensure safety.
