Tax Bills Due May 1st, 2026
Mailing Payments: When mailing in tax payment, please include the bill(s) that you are paying along with your check. Otherwise, we may not know where to apply your payment.
Online Payments: You can use a debit card, credit card or electronic check to pay online. There is a 2.99% convenience fee to use a debit card or credit card. If you use an electronic check, the fee is only $0.60. You do not need to create an account to pay your bills online. Please note when searching for your real estate invoice, only fill out one of the four boxes: last name, street name, bill number, or parcel ID.
To Pay in Person: Our doors are open! Please come to the Treasurer/Collector's office at the Town Hall located at 340 Anawan Street.
Drop-Off Box: We have a secure drop-off box located outside the Town Hall where payments can be submitted. The box is gray and labeled "Tax Payments." Please make sure your check and bill are in a sealed envelope before dropping them in the box.
Quarterly Due Real Estate Tax Bills are MAILED twice a year, in an effort to save costs. Each mailing contains two remittance coupon bills, and are due to be paid on August 1, November 1, February 1, and May 1, for that fiscal year.
Under state law, Chapter 60, Section 3, failure to receive a bill does not affect the validity of the tax or any interest or fines incurred due to late payment(s). The collector may send the tax notice required to an owner who has acquired title by a deed duly recorded subsequent to January first in the year in which said tax was assessed. It is the responsibility of the taxpayer to secure his/her tax bill when one is not received. Charges & interest are mandated by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue.
There is NO grace period. Real Estate tax payments must be received by the Tax Collector by 4:00p.m. on the due date.
Real Estate Tax Interest is charged at the rate of 14% per annum. The Interest rate starts accruing at midnight of the due date per MA Gen. Law.
