What about the issue of SPED staffing?

Some SPED staff now serve the whole regional district due to low caseload for a particular service.

These positions are as follows:

2 occupational therapists (for pre-school and BMS/High School)

2 speech language pathologists (for pre-school and DMS/High School)

2 adaptive Physical Ed teachers (one for elementary school and one for middle/High School)

1 float nurse

1 Special Ed director

A new School Committee would have to renegotiate these contracts. The decision becomes whether the SC and the town will pay on a part-time basis, vendor contract, or hire them full time. We also have vendor contracts for Physical therapy, vision therapy and mobility, hippo therapy and music therapy. These contracts will have to be renegotiated as well.
