Board of Health
There are five members appointed to staggered three year terms. They are responsible for formulating and enforcing regulations affecting our environment and actions affecting our health. The Board of Health regulates the following under the Commonwealth of Massachusetts General Laws and Town of Rehoboth Board of Health rules and regulations:
- Food service and retail food permits
- Sewage disposal systems and wells
- Stables and piggeries
- Body Work Establishments & Body Work Therapists
- Tobacco Regulations
- Nuisances
- The Town Transfer Station (trash disposal and recycling)
Public Health Nurse
The Public Health Nurse works in the Health Department, under the direction of the Board of Health. The primary role of the nurse is to provide infectious disease surveillance and reporting to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Other services include patient education, blood pressure screening, and vaccine administration.
Department Hours:
Monday - Thursday 8:00am to 4:00pm
Friday 8:00am to 12:00 noon
